Panel: Where Finance & Community Development Intersect with Food Justice

Join us for a panel highlighting the stories and creative financing partnerships behind Community Foods Market and Mandela MarketPlace, two community-based markets working to make positive social impacts in West Oakland, a frontline community experiencing significant barriers to accessing public health, economic, and social opportunities.

This panel is hosted by and will focus on California FreshWorks, a loan and grant program that provides financing to create equitable access to affordable, healthy food in low-income and underserved communities in California. We work with a variety of businesses and nonprofits that grow, aggregate, distribute, and sell healthy food in a way that builds a sustainable local food system, increases community ownership, and promotes economic development.
